Description: A New Zealand native of the lily family, Astelia has silvery green evergreen flaxlike foliage, with an upright arching form.The foliage has an attractive satin silver sheen that rubs off if handling roughly. Its white flowers are followed by orange berries.

Planting/Use: Primarily grown for its showy foliage, it is a beautiful container plant and a striking addition in the border. The foliage is used in floral design.
