Panicum virgatum 'Prarie Fire' - Red Switch Grass

Description: A lovely selection with sturdy upright blue-green stems and wine red foliage. Blue green in the spring, the foliage turns deep red by early summer. Flowers appear late summer as a bouquet of rosy panicles just above the slightly curling foliage.

Planting/Use: Lovely as a specimen in the border and effective in masses. Attractive winter silhouette.

General Care: Warm season. Moist fertile
well-drained soil. Cut back in spring.

Exposure: Full sun in well drained soil.
