Description: Striking Asian sedge has broad
leaves, medium green with creamy white margins. New spring growth has a showy pink tinge. Spreads slowly from underground stems, but is not invasive. Typical sedge flowers on wiry stems, noticeable, but not showy.
Planting/Use: Good groundcover for shady
woodland gardens, especially when dappled
sunlight can play on variegated foliage.
General Care: Deciduous. Cut back in the fall or early spring. Rich soil with humus and constant moisture is best.
Exposure: Light shade.
